The 2018/19 season might be the campaign that many Arsenal fans or anybody involved with the London-based club might want to forget.
They have been rather impressive, finishing in fifth place on the Premier League table, reaching the quarter finals of EFL Cup, and even brushing every European team aside to get to the final of UEFA Europa League where they had to face the terrifying London rivals, Chelsea.
The latter, unfortunately, came out as winners instead of the Gunners.
Led by Spanish mastermind, Unai Emery, Arsenal are actually quite a solid, almost formidable team when at their best.
With their high defensive block, vertically compact defensive shape, and narrow defensive line, Arsenal’s fortified defence are quite tough to break.
But quite often though, the goals were the result of their lack of coordination, poor communications, and just basically some silly mistakes.
They really need to fix this or at least, try to prevent the same mistakes from happening if they really want to challenge for a title next season.
Their frontline aren’t actually that bad. With the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, Arsenal had, as a matter of fact, one of the scariest and most productive frontlines in the Premier League. And they proved so by being the third most prolific team of the season.
If only Arsenal could take a look at the mistakes that they have made this season and try to improve themselves, as well as, perhaps also bolster their weak spots and get rid of some deadwood in the squad – they might well be on their way to some glorious times in the coming seasons.
Arsenal also have some young players on loan, very talented players with immense potential. It could be good if they could provide a spot for them in the first team to flourish next season. Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson are coming back to the team, so it might be good for Emery if he could let these youngsters get some much-needed game time next season for their development.
